We are so looking forward to seeing everybody on Thursday for our launch party! We know everybody loves a little shopping – here is a peak at some of the lines we will have and the people behind them.
DAYBREAK STUDIOS
From a young age, Hayley Price always knew she wanted to be an artist. While other kids had Barbies and American Girl Dolls on their Christmas lists, a new set of paints and sketchbook were on the top of Hayley’s list. After numerous art camps and classes up through high school she decided she wanted to travel to Ireland for an intensive summer art program at Cow House Studios the summer after high school sophomore year. There she studied drawing and painting techniques from artists around the world while traveling and living on a beautiful farm in the Irish countryside. Upon her return, she went on to take AP Art her senior year. During her senior year, the class took a trip to California and Oregon to create art with various mediums in the Redwood Forest and on the Oregon Coast.
Hayley now studies Studio Art and Business at Washington and Lee University in Virginia. This summer, Hayley has been commissioned for several painting for clients. She hopes to continue to learn new inventive painting techniques during her next three years at school and create beautiful pieces for many years to come.
INDIA HICKS
India Hicks’ new company showcases her well-designed collection of luxe beauty products and well crafted accessories. Each and every item is imbued with the stories from her British heritage and her current life with David and their 5 children, on their tiny Bahamian paradise Harbour Island.
MONTES DOGGETT
Montes Doggett has its roots in Mexico, where owner Monica Porter grew up. Her mother, who frequently hosted formal dinners and had an eye for simple and elegant settings, would whisper in Monica’s ear: “You should be the one setting the table. You do it so tastefully and beautifully.” Those early words – combined with stories shared over a meal – ignited a passion in Monica for table settings, entertaining and food.
Montes Doggett believes in fair trade and celebrates the inherent beauty and craftsmanship of pottery made by loving hands. As you choose each piece, Monica hopes the fine work of the artists will spur good food, drink, laughter and memories at your table, just as they do at hers.
ASHLEY SHEPHERD AND HOLLY WALMAN DESIGNS
Ashley Shepherd grew up with a passion for the arts and especially enjoys working with clay. For the last several years, she has been one of the studio educators at Peachtree Presbyterian Preschool. In 2014, she created a line of ceramic jewelry in honor of her brothers who are now angels watching over us. A portion of her proceeds will be donated to Skyland Trail, a mental health treatment organization.
Holly Walman has had a long time love for the arts and more recently a strong interest in ceramics. She also is a studio educator at Peachtree Presbyterian Preschool and works closely with Ashley. With a recent diagnosis of Alzheimer’s in Holly’s family, she has made it a mission to raise money for Alzheimer’s research. A portion of her jewelry proceeds will be donated to The Emory Alzheimer’s Research Center.
Each of the pieces of wearable art has been made from the love of healing hearts.
